Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul sharply divided opinions, to say the least. While it was a resounding commercial success, the significant age difference and fitness level between the fighters was hard to ignore.

Tyson was 58 when he laced up the gloves to face Paul on November 15, 2024. Meanwhile, Paul was just 27 at the time. In the fight, ‘Iron Mike’ was far from his best self and landed just 18 of his 97 attempted punches.

The fight ended in a decision win for Paul, adding a defeat to Mike Tyson’s professional record of 50-7-0. Tyson has now shockingly revealed that he is yet to fully recover from the fight.

Speaking to the NY Post, Tyson said:

I feel pretty good. I don’t know if I’m 100 percent recovered, but I feel good.

Meanwhile, speaking to Fox Sports Radio last month, Tyson made a surprising admission, claiming that he didn’t remember much from the fight.

I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out. I haven’t watched the fight back. You know what I remember… coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow… that’s the last thing I remember.

While the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was surrounded by controversy, 60 million people tuned in to watch the contest.

Jake Paul continues to make waves in the boxing world with his unique and unconventional approach to the sport. And while what fans saw was a much older version of Mike Tyson, it was great to see the legend back in the ring once again.

Mike Tyson has revealed that he has not fully healed from his loss to Jake Paul – more than two months after they clashed in the ring.

The 58-year-old was beaten on points by the YouTuber-turned-boxer in November, in a fight that sparked controversy – and even claims it was rigged.

Tyson struggled against Paul, who has had only 11 professional fights but is more than three decades younger than the former world heavyweight champion.

The fight broke records but Tyson has now revealed the physical toll it took on him. He told the New York Post: ‘I don’t know if I’m 100 percent recovered, but I feel good.’

‘Iron’ Mike, once known as the Baddest Man on the Planet, previously admitted he could barely remember the eight rounds at AT&T Stadium in Texas.

‘I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out a little,’ he told Fox Sports Radio in December.

‘I remember coming back from the first round and Jake is doing some kind of… I don’t know what he was doing (Tyson leans forward, pretending to bow) and that’s the last thing I remember.’

The controversial fight – Tyson’s first professional bout for 20 years – had to be pushed back several months after Tyson suffered an medical scare.

Ahead of the original date in July, Tyson had an ‘ulcer flare-up’ on a plane. The boxing legend become nauseous and dizzy before paramedics later came on board.

He and Paul were recently reunited as they mingled among political heavyweights, tech titans and media moguls to celebrate Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington DC.

Paul, 27, and Tyson, 58, joined the sporting A-listers headlining the inauguration celebrations, including the likes of Conor McGregor, Dana White and Paul’s brother, Logan.

In a viral video, Tyson was seen getting on his former rival’s shoulders as onlookers chanted words of encouragement.

Both dressed in tuxedos for the black-tie event, Paul easily lifted Tyson as the boxing legend put his hands over his face.

Joe Rogan has shared his honest opinion on the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. Paul and Tyson clashed inside the boxing ring in November with ‘The Problem Child’ coming out with a decision win.

The fight garnered a massive audience with over 60 million people watching it on Netflix. The age gap between the two competitors was hard to ignore, though, with Tyson aged 58 and Paul, 27.

Tyson looked nowhere near his best and it was a rather easy outing for Paul. Rogan has now claimed that the fight looked like a spar where no one wanted to hurt eachother.

In a recent episode of the famous Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, the UFC color commentator said:

I’m happy they made money. I’ll leave it at that.

– Joe Rogan

He paused before adding:

I think it looked like sparring, to me. It didn’t look like anybody was trying to hurt anybody really, which is good. Whatever, you draw your own conclusions. I have no facts. I paid for it. I love Mike Tyson. I’ve met Jake Paul too, he’s a cool guy. I’m happy they made money. I paid for it. I don’t care. I was hoping it was going to be a real fight, but I was like, ‘Okay, I see what’s going on’.

– Joe Rogan

Jake Paul landed 78 of his 278 attempted puches during the event while Mike Tyson could land only 18 of his 97 attempts. Tyson moved to a record of 50-7-0 due to his defeat. Paul improved his record to 11-1-0.

Mike Tyson was in sensational shape for his fight with Jake Paul back in November – but the former heavyweight world champion has piled on the pounds over the festive period

Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson seems to be relishing some downtime after his boxing match with Jake Paul. The 58-year-old faced off against the YouTuber-turned-boxer in November, marking Tyson’s first professional bout since his loss to Kevin McBride in 2005.

However, he did participate in an exhibition match against legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr in 2020 before his face-off with ‘The Problem Child’. The fight with the 27-year-old was a significant challenge for ‘Iron Mike,’ primarily due to the vast age difference, necessitating serious preparation from the seasoned boxer.

Tyson wowed many with his toned physique ahead of the heavyweight clash. Although the American appeared sharp in training, his age was evident on fight night in Texas.

Despite not achieving a knockout, Paul sailed to a unanimous decision victory, extending his professional boxing record to 11-1. Seven weeks post-fight, Tyson has been enjoying a well-deserved break and appears to have put on some weight in recent footage.

After an intense and exhausting training camp, it seems that the American’s focus is no longer on the ring but on spending time with his family over the holiday season.

Before his defeat to Paul, Tyson confessed that he “almost died”. The legendary fighter took to Twitter and shared: “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”

Tyson was initially scheduled to face off against Paul in July, but the match was delayed due to Tyson experiencing a health scare during a flight. Speaking about the incident before the fight, Tyson told New York Magazine: “I was in the bathroom throwing up blood.”

He added, “I asked the doctor, ‘Am I going to die? ‘ He said, ‘We have options.’ Options? I couldn’t believe it. I had, like, eight blood transfusions. The doctor said I lost half my blood. I almost died.

“I lost 25 pounds in 11 days. Couldn’t eat. Only liquids. Every time I went to the bathroom, it smelled like tar. Didn’t even smell like —- anymore. It was disgusting. It threw me off [when I continued training].

“All my coordination, stamina, everything was hectic getting back. I was peaked already. I could have fought him that day. Now I got to start from scratch. I just don’t give up.”
