Mike Tyson has a terrifying revelation about Jake Paul fight that makes clear it never should have happened

Tyson has been doing the media rounds since the bout took place.

Nearly a month after it happened, the bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson continues to be discussed and debated by the national sports media. Paul‘s victory by unanimous decision came as a surprise — but only to a point, as the combatants’ 31-year age difference proved decisive over a grueling eight rounds at AT&T Stadium.

Paul, 27, proved his talent for defeating past-their-prime fighters in 2024 by defeating Mike Perry before taking on the 58-year-old Tyson, who suffered a medical emergency in May that nearly killed him. In the weeks following the fight, Paul has gone on a victory tour to exotic locales like Abu Dhabi, while Tyson continues to reckon with the result back home

Tyson “blanked out” during the bout

Despite a bright start to the fight on Nov. 15, by the halfway point it was clear that Tyson was going to lose the bout — although Iron Mike’s reported $20 million payout may have made his rigorous training and health struggles “worth it”. But in the wake of his defeat, Tyson has made the chilling discovery that he doesn’t really remember fighting Paul, who reportedly took home $40 million from his “business trip” to Arlington.

I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out,” Tyson said during an interview on FOX Sports Radio‘s “Covino and Rich” show. “You know what I remember… coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow… that’s the last thing I remember.”

Mike Tyson Vs. Jake Paul Was An Entertaining DisasterTyson’s springtime ulcer flare-up put the fight in jeopardy and warranted its postponement to November, and what occurred in the heart of Texas led to claims that the fight was “rigged” in favor of Paul. Even Paul has admitted that he took it easy on the former heavyweight champion, and the two appeared to embrace during the final round, when the result of the fight was no longer in doubt.

But this new revelation from Tyson makes clear what many analysts and former boxers had suspected throughout 2024: the matchup gave Paul a decided advantage from the start, and Tyson was fortunate to avoid serious injury against a younger and stronger combatant.
