The WNBA All-Stars are showing out Thursday on the Orange Carpet in Phoenix. Even amid the excitement, Fever phenom Caitlin Clark found the time to pay her fellow rookie and rival Angel Reese a huge compliment.

The pair are neck-and-neck in the race for Rookie of the Year, and both are coming off massive achievements in the first half of the WNBA season. Clark set the league’s single game assist record with 19 against the Wings on Wednesday, while Reese recently broke Candace Parker’s record for longest double-double streak in WNBA history at 15 games.

Clark and Reese will play on the same team for the first time Saturday as All-Stars, a pairing sure to excite every women’s basketball fan. Here’s what Clark had to say about her Sky counterpart on the Orange Carpet.

What did Caitlin Clark say about Angel Reese on the Orange Carpet?

Clark was asked for her thoughts on playing with Reese in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game on the Orange Carpet. The 22-year-old Fever guard was very open in her response.

“It’s obviously rare to have two rookies in the All-Star Game. The fans are super excited about it and I think it’s really good for the W,” Clark said. “Obviously she’s having an incredible year. She’s probably going to lead the game in rebounds, I expect that out of her. That’s just what she does. It should be fun.”

Angel Reese

Clark leads the WNBA in assists at the All-Star break with 8.2 per game, while Reese sits second in rebounds with 11.9 per game, second only to Aces star and MVP front-runner A’ja Wilson (12.0).

The duo share had a friendly rivalry going back to their days facing off in the NCAA, notably in the 2023 national championship and the 2024 Elite Eight. Reese won the title with LSU in 2023, but Clark and Iowa won the rematch in 2024 before falling to South Carolina in the tournament final.

All that being said, the emphasis in the rivalry is on friendly, and Clark and Reese will likely make a great duo on the court Saturday. Clark and Reese will play for Team WNBA, which will face off against Team USA as in a pre-Olympic tune-up.

Caitlin Clark All-Star Game outfit

The Orange Carpet is as much for the All-Stars to show off their style as it is for them to do press and pose for photos.

Clark showed out, wearing an Armani dress, Versace shoes and a Versace bag, along with Tiffany and Cartier jewelry. Like the rookie’s demeanor, her outfit is nothing too flashy, but it is classy nonetheless.
