It’s been a little over a month since Tiger Woods hard-launched his relationship with Vanessa Trump, Don Jr.’s ex-wife. But according to the Daily Mail, some people in the pro golfer’s close circle weren’t too pleased with his MAGA-adjacent girlfriend.
An anonymous source told the tabloid Thursday that Woods’s friends and associates had approached him with some “concerns” about what dating a Trump might do to his public image. But Woods, according to the insider, shut down that conversation, reportedly saying, “Fuck what people think.”
“Tiger has always been publicly apolitical,” the source said. “He has his beliefs and opinions, of course, but he doesn’t make a public spectacle of his political leanings. And dating someone in a political family looks like he’s choosing a side.”

Still, “you can’t really tell Tiger to do something he doesn’t want to do,” they added. “And he felt like this was an important enough relationship to go public with. If someone has a problem, that’s on them, not him.”
To be clear, Woods has not exactly been maintaining a “publicly apolitical” stance — he played golf with Donald Trump in February and returned to the White House a few weeks later for a Black History Month reception. I see plenty of Mar-a-Lago hangs in the future, fuck what people think!
