Tyson Fury is in camp and working for the first time in his career to avenge a defeat.

It came at the hands of former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk back in May when the pair were battling it out for undisputed heavyweight honours in Saudi Arabia.

Despite a good showing early on, ‘The Gypsy King’ was caught in the eighth, causing a nose injury and a torrid ninth round. He went on to lose on the scorecards via split decision.

The initial fight date was postponed when Fury was badly cut in sparring – something Derek Chisora told TalkSPORT affected his preparations even for the rescheduled date.

“When Tyson fights, he fights for himself, when Usyk fights, he fights for his country. I don’t think Tyson was 100% when he walked into that ring. He had a massive cut. He didn’t want to get fined for missing the fight so he didn’t spar like he wanted to spar. He was under-prepared. I think Usyk stops him this time.”

Promoter Frank Warren refuted those claims to TalkSPORT ahead of the rematch in December.

“It’s his opinion. He’s wrong. He trained for the fight, and for the first seven rounds of the fight, it looked at one stage like it would be the end of the fight. Then he got caught on the tip of his nose and lost his focus.”

Fury has said he was enjoying himself too much in the fight and that he will remain switched on for the rematch in December.

One keen onlooker is Anthony Joshua who fights Daniel Dubois this weekend and hopes a win will get him a shot at an undisputed fight with whoever comes out on top of Fury and Usyk.
