Tiger Woods’ relationship with Vanessa Trump may now be common knowledge, but that doesn’t mean that they’re willing to show their affection in public.
Woods confirmed his relationship with Donald Trump’s former daughter-in-law back in March, and the U.S. President’s private thoughts on the relationship soon emerged. Ivanka Trump also gave her opinion, with Vanessa being the ex-wife of her brother, Donald Trump Jr.
It’s rare that Woods and Vanessa venture out in public together, with the couple enjoying private time in their Palm Beach homes, which are located just 20 minutes apart. However, they’ve agreed that when they are out in public, they will limit the affection shown and ensure it’s kept behind closed doors.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who confirmed via an insider that Woods and Vanessa enjoy acting like a normal couple and enjoy their privacy. “Movie nights, binge-watching shows, eating take-out – that makes them happy,” the insider said.
“They’re honestly just like everyone else in their dating life. When they do go out in public, like they have for two different golf tournaments, they lay off the PDA.
“Tiger has done a lot of crazy things with people, flown around the world. So has Vanessa. It can be a lot. Now it’s nice to have someone who wants to stay home and chill. It’s a nice change for him.”
Woods and Vanessa have reportedly been dating for five months, and the legendary golfer public announced it on March 23. “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!” Woods wrote on social media as he shared pictures with Vanessa.
“We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”
Due to Vanessa’s ties with the Trump family, the golfer was warned by close friends that his reputation could be impacted. However, an insider also told the Daily Mail that Woods isn’t concerned with what people think and is focusing on his new, happy relationship.
“Tiger has always been publicly apolitical,” the insider told the Daily Mail. “He has his beliefs and opinions, of course, but he doesn’t make a public spectacle of his political leanings.”
Woods has also known Trump for years due to his obsession with golf, and has never received a major backlash. “He didn’t care one bit,” the insider added. “You can’t really tell Tiger to do something he doesn’t want to do.
“And he felt like this was an important enough relationship to go public with. If someone has a problem, that’s on them, not him. He still doesn’t think of it as being anything political – she’s his girlfriend who happens to have the Trump last name.”
It was also feared that President Trump would have negative feelings towards the relationship, until he publicly endorsed their romance. “He told me about it, and I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good, that’s good.’ I’m very happy for you both,” Trump said. “Just let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They’re both great.”
