Anthony Joshua has shared twelve rounds with Joseph Parker and five with Daniel Dubois, and will be ringside when the two face off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month.

Joshua beat Parker to unify the heavyweight titles back in 2018. Though the New Zealander lost a unanimous decision, he became the first man to force ‘AJ’ to go the full distance, showing a grit that would continue to serve him as he made his comeback.

Since then, Parker has lost to Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, but recent wins over big punchers Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang set him up for a shot at the IBF belt, currently held by Dubois.

Dangerous Heavyweight Being Considered For Anthony Joshua's Next Fight Vows To KO AJ In 1 Round - Seconds Out‘Dynamite’ Dubois was elevated to full champion after beating Filip Hrgovic and made the first defence of his title in emphatic fashion, battering Joshua at Wembley Stadium and stopping him in the fifth.

With both men in fine form, the title clash is an excellent start to 2025 for the sport’s biggest division. Joshua is well-placed to pick a winner, and has announced a prediction challenge with Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh.

“22nd of February. It’s gonna be big. Make sure you tune in. I’m actually gonna come out to Saudi and watch the fight between Joseph Parker and Daniel Dubois. Good luck to both men. Me and His Excellency, we have an agreement. He picks his side, I pick my side and we see who wins.”

‘AJ’ then backed Parker to win the fight and become a two-time world champion. He may well then target a rematch, having made it clear that he is looking to hold a belt once more.

Turki Alalshikh wants to see Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder next.

The Saudi boxing chief has vowed to deliver boxing’s craziest year in 2025, and a fight between Joshua and Wilder would arguably live up to that expectation.

On Monday, Tyson Fury announced his intention to retire from boxing in a short social media statement that asserted his journey in the squared circle had ‘been a blast’.

‘The Gypsy King’ suffered his second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December. but hadn’t yet announced his future plans in the sport.

I've Fought Anthony Joshua & Deontay Wilder - One Man Hits Far Harder'He had been heavily linked with a two-fight deal against Joshua this year, however, those plans have now been thrown out the window following Fury’s recent revelation.

Alalshikh joined talkSPORT’s White and Jordan on Thursday to discuss Fury’s announcement and what he has planned for Joshua next.

The boxing chief admitted he plans to hold talks with Fury over his future in boxing with fans still desperate to see an all-British heavyweight encounter against AJ.

But if that is not an option – Alalshikh believes Wilder is the next best thing.

“If you want something about the British markets, I want to see Joshua and Wilder now,” he said.

“If Tyson is not available why not Joshua and Wilder?”

Wilder has lost four of his last five fight, suffering two defeats to Fury in 2020 and 2021 before knocking out Finland’s Robert Helenius.

But he failed to carry any momentum into his subsequent bouts, as he fell to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, which both took place in Saudi Arabia in what turned out to be two very shocking defeats.

However, a commercial blockbuster deal with Joshua will always be on the cards due to Wilder’s history with Fury and his devastating knockout power.

Simon Jordan agreed with Alalshikh, but threw another name into the mix as another suitable opponent for AJ.

Anthony Joshua splashes out £2,000 to lock himself in dark room for four days - Mirror Online“I can understand why people would want to see it,” Jordan said.

“I mean I’d like to see Joshua fight someone like [Martin] Bakole. I think there’s real jeopardy in that fight.

“I’d like to see Joshua fighting someone that was at the front of their career.”

Alalshikh interrupted: “We finished the deal with Bakole against the Nigerian fighters. [Efe] Ajagba or something like that.

“We finished that as they must do it because this is mandatory for the IBF.

“Then after that we are open to see Joshua also against Bakole.

“I want to see this fight right. I want to see it but you know where I want to see it. I want to see it in Africa.”

Bakole has been in ‘advanced negotiations’ to face Efe Ajagba in an IBF final eliminator to decide the major sanctioning body’s mandatory.

Dubois is the current IBF champion and is set to defend his belt against Parker on February 22.

Wilder, meanwhile, has reportedly signed his side of a deal to face journeyman boxer Curtis Harper in the spring, therefore it’s likely a fight with Joshua would come towards the end of 2025.

Having beaten both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk has a well informed view on what might happen were the two to meet.

Dates, location reportedly set for heavyweight boxing title fight | Sporting NewsUsyk has cleared out all of the main competition in the heavyweight division in the last six years since moving up from cruiserweight. He left the weight class below as undisputed champion and recently repeated that feat at heavyweight. He twice beat Anthony Joshua to relive him of his three world titles and then defend them in a second fight, and wasn’t significantly hurt in either on his way to a brace of points victories.

After beating Daniel Dubois to defend his belts, Usyk then took on WBC champion Fury last May. He once again got a points win after landing the more significant punches across the 12-rounds, and in December he entered into a rematch with ‘The Gypsy King’ that went the same way. This time, he got a unanimous decision with all three ringside judges giving him the fight 116-112.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, Usyk exclaimed Fury gave him the harder fights but predicted an ‘Anthony Joshua on points’ victory should the two meet.

Tyson Fury Reveals His One Major Condition For Fighting Anthony Joshua After Usyk - Seconds OutThis is the natural next fight for these long time British rivals and would be a legacy defining contest that would be of great interest to fans.

Meanwhile, Usyk has many options. Plenty of people would happily see him retire given what he has achieved, although there is also clamour to see him take on Dubois once more to again unify all of the major belts.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has backed Anthony Joshua to defeat Tyson Fury when they eventually meet, insisting the British-Nigerian only needs to improve his self-confidence to return to the top, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Despite Joshua’s recent knockout defeat to IBF champion Daniel Dubois, Wilder believes a clash between the British rivals would go the distance, with Joshua emerging victorious if he can overcome his mental barriers.

“I can see Joshua beating him (Fury). It’s crazy to say, some people are like how do you see that?” Wilder said.

Anthony Joshua responds to Deontay Wilder's outburst to Tyson Fury | Boxing News | Sky Sports“But I can really see Joshua winning that fight, to be honest. If he goes in and does what he has to do and does not think so much. I think Joshua thinks a lot. He doubts himself a lot as well. I don’t think he has a lot of self-motivation or self-confidence.

“I think if he changes a few things mentally, he can come back and redeem himself more so than ever.”

The potential clash, which could generate over $300m in revenue, remains one of boxing’s most anticipated matchups despite both fighters losing their most recent bouts – Fury dropping consecutive decisions to Oleksandr Usyk while Joshua suffered the knockout defeat to Dubois.

Top Rank president Todd DuBoef believes the fight would bring Britain to a standstill, even without world titles on the line.

They’re like peanut butter and jelly, Joshua and Fury, they go together.”

Joshua, who recently visited Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, confirmed his interest in facing his British rival while at the state house.

“2025, I am targeting Tyson Fury,” the British-Nigerian said. “Time is of the essence, time is limited, so I just want to put in more work. When I look back, I believe I could have done more in 2024.”

Former world super-featherweight champion Barry Jones, however, disagrees with Wilder’s prediction, backing Fury to emerge victorious.

“Fury is a massive favourite but I think in general he was always a slight favourite (against Joshua),” Jones told the 5 Live Boxing with Steve Bunce podcast.

“He’ll want the Joshua fight because he’s beaten almost every fighter of his generation. It might be a different Joshua but it’s a different Fury. I think to get Joshua on his record in years to come will show how good he is.”

Boxing expert Steve Bunce warned that defeat could be devastating for either man’s legacy.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has opened up on the possibility of a fight against Tyson Fury, provided the Gypsy King doesn’t retire after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk

Eddie Hearn has told Tyson Fury that the much-anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua could be arranged “immediately”.

Both British heavyweights are rebounding from title fight losses, with Joshua suffering a knockout by Daniel Dubois at Wembley and Fury losing to Oleksandr Usyk again just before Christmas. Despite both fighters arguably being beyond their peak years and no titles at stake, a bout between Joshua and Fury remains a tantalising and lucrative event.

Assuming Fury, 36, opts to continue fighting, Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has indicated that negotiations could commence without delay, hinting at Saudi Arabia as a probable venue.

“It’s the fight that everyone wants. Tell me a bigger fight? There isn’t one,” Hearn told The Stomping Ground on YouTube. “I don’t know if it’s going to happen.

“There have been no discussions. Fury’s coming off that defeat and after his break, he’s going to decide what he wants to do. If he wants to fight AJ, the fight happens immediately. We’ll see.”

Hearn added that now is not the time to pressure Fury’s team, saying: “I don’t think it’s the time to start prodding Tyson Fury. Don’t forget, he lost on December 21, so give him a few weeks to chill out.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have been linked with a huge all-British clash for years. With Fury on the cusp of his world title fight with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night in Riyadh, shown live on TNT Sports Box Office, there is speculation that the Briton could finally move onto a fight against Joshua in 2025. Fury, his promoters and Eddie Hearn all have had their say in the recent past.

The two fighters have circled one another for a decade, but will Tyson Fury finally fight Anthony Joshua?
Fury fights Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night, live on TNT Sports Box Office, and whether he wins or loses, most British fight fans will hope that before Joshua and Fury step away from the sport, they will finally settle their rivalry.
Poll: Will Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua actually happen in 2021? - Bad Left HookThe two almost fought a few years ago, before they were sidetracked, in part, by Usyk.
In 2021 it seemed set that the two Britons would meet in the ring for an undisputed clash in their next fights, but ultimately, Fury was forced to honour an obligation to take on Deontay Wilder in his trilogy rematch, which he duly won.
While he retained his WBC crown, Joshua found himself teed up to defend his three belts against Usyk, who was getting used to the heavyweight division after moving up from cruiserweight.
Ultimately, the Ukrainian would win both of his two fights against Joshua to set up an undisputed clash with Fury, which he won in May. That leads us to now, with several options ahead for Fury.

Eddie Hearn has admitted to talkSPORT that Anthony Joshua is ‘hurting’ after his devastating defeat at the hands of Daniel Dubois.

Joshua was knocked out by his fellow countryman in front of a capacity crowd at Wembley Stadium in September.

It marked the fourth defeat of his professional career and his most damaging to date, with Dubois dropping Joshua four times en route to the eventual fifth-round stoppage.

Several members of the boxing fraternity called for the two-time unified heavyweight champion to hang up his gloves immediately after the contest.

Anthony Joshua Vs. Daniel Dubois Results: Winner, Highlights, ReactionHowever, AJ came out a couple of days later and insisted he would continue fighting.

And according to Hearn, his future was never up for discussion.

Asked if Joshua ever considered retiring during an appearance on talkSPORT’s White and Jordan show on Thursday afternoon, Hearn replied: “No, never, never.

“One because physically he feels good and he’s looking good.

“But also because when you suffer a loss like that the decision is not, ‘Shall we retire?’ It’s now about, ‘How do we look when we come back?’”

That isn’t to say that Joshua didn’t battle his own demons though.

Anthony Joshua Vs Daniel Dubois“Yeah, he is hurting. He took a pasting at times in that fight and I think he has got his back up and he wants to come back stronger.

“I don’t think it is ever easy. The reason this sport is so compelling is because you are on your own in there.

“When you are scrambling on the floor to get up and hang on for dear life, time and time again it is very humbling and probably very humiliating.

“He had to go through that experience. He never stopped trying, he never stopped trying to get up till the point where he couldn’t get up.

“I think he showed a lot of heart but he got well beaten and he needs to go back and work out why.”

A match-up between two fighters of Nigerian origins Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder is set for 2025.

In a thrilling matchup between the United Kingdom and the United States, Anthony Joshua is predicted to face Deontay Wilder.

This year, the two former world champions were scheduled to finally meet, but Wilder lost unexpectedly to Joseph Parker.

Zhilei Zhang then knocked him out, and in September, Daniel Dubois stopped AJ after five rounds.

Anthony Joshua vs Deontay WilderRichard Torrez, an 11-0 American professional and US Olympian, is still interested in seeing the two square off, though.

Turki Alalshikh, the powerful Saudi boxing head, recently announced plans to hold a 6v6 series of contests between the United Kingdom and the United States.

In June, Eddie Hearn’s stable of Matchroom fighters lost against Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions.

However, Hearn and Warren might team up this time to fight Golden Boy of America and Top Rank.

Anthony Joshua and Mike Tyson are two huge names in heavyweight boxing.

Despite what they have achieved in their careers, both men have recently suffered losses. Joshua was stopped inside five rounds by Daniel Dubois as he attempted to become a world heavyweight champion for the third time back in September.

As for Tyson, he was beaten on points by a man less than half his age in Jake Paul when the pair fought a controversial eight rounds in Texas this November.

Anthony and MikeSpeaking to IFL TV when ranking his best heavyweights of all time, Joshua had plenty of praise for Tyson’a prime days.

“Number two is gonna be The Iron Man, the man that I would love to have read comic books about when I was a kid. ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson. The beast, the man with the 19″ neck, the man with quads that mad people say don’t skip leg day, the man with the legs that made you get your suits tailored. The beast that will knock you out with a left or a right. Iron Mike Tyson is definitely in my top five.”

He then named the one heavyweight he sees as better than the youngest ever heavyweight champion, ‘Iron Mike’.Anthony Joshua

“The king of the ring, the finest, the man who brought finesse to the game, the greatest, Muhammad Ali.”

Muhammad Ali was an enigma inside the ring and out, transcending the sport of boxing to become a cultural icon.

Joshua is currently recovering from some niggling injuries and assessing his options for his ring return. It won’t be an immediate rematch with Dubois who is now set to face Joseph Parker in February, but he could wait around for the winner of the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on December 21.
